Our Huntly College 2026 Cross Country took place on Friday, May 15th, for the third year in a row as part of our Sports, Culture, and Leadership. Participating in Cross Country builds our school’s sporting culture, improves health and wellbeing, and builds a connection to the environment.
After three weeks of preparation, the students were ready to tackle the Lake Puketirini track. We had a beautiful, not too warm, sunny autumn day as we made our way to the lake. Our Juniors and walking participants completed the 2.7km track, while the Intermediate and Senior Competitors took on the 5.4km challenge.
There was a positive upbeat atmosphere, which contributed to the 100% participation among our akonga. Everyone finished the day with some hydration and cold treats before being dismissed from the lake.
Here is a list of the results. Total house points will be tallied for the next school assembly.
A big Thank You to the Participants, Supporters, and Teachers for a fantastic event!
