Te Kauwhata’s Girl Guides are not only following traditional guiding principles of building confidence and life skills with fun, adventure and friendship, but are also very much on point with mindfulness and associated activities.
Recently they took part in mindfulness yoga, made handprints about the things they love about themselves, and created affirmation slap bands.
They also celebrated Father’s Day with a disco, ran a garage sale and did a deep dive into food science during September.
Local co-ordinator Luci Fraser says Te Kauwhata Girl Guides don’t have an open night planned right now, but parents can get in touch and arrange to visit.
She says “it is best to get in touch first as we are sometimes off site for certain activities. We offer up to three visits free of charge for those thinking of joining. Plus we have an incredible group of leaders who work well together to ensure we have continuous high-quality sessions for all our girls, and we have a lot of fun doing so.”
