Huntly’s Spencer Flooring Ltd has been recognised at the annual Flooring Industry Apprentice Awards, winning three major awards at this year’s event.
The business received the 2025 Wayne Young Employers Award, while two of its apprentices, Ryder Brown and Christian McNabney, were named Flooring Apprentice of the Year for Stage 1 and Stage 2 respectively.
Held by BCITO and Floor NZ in Auckland yesterday, the awards celebrate apprentices who are excelling in the flooring trade, with winners selected based on the skills and achievement they showed during their block courses.
“The event is a chance to honour our winners their skill, commitment and contribution to the future of our craft” said Jeff Henry, Floor NZ Chief Executive
The event also importantly honours the employers like local business Spencer Flooring who put the time and effort in to supporting their apprentices and developing their skills.
